About Alexis Brown:
Alexis Brown is a NY and DC based photographer and photo retoucher specializing in flash event photography and E-commerce. Brown began photographing as a junior photojournalist in 2011 which eventually gravitated to documenting the New York City nightlife scene of DJs, freestyle dance, and event in 2017. Since then, she has work along side of DJs such as Niara Sterling, Quiana Parks, DJ Moma, DJ Alizay, personally hired by venues such as Everyday People, The Kennedy Center, House of Yes, and LeBain the Standard as the official event photographer and worked on numerous projects with NYC dancers
In 2018, Brown; with her culminated experiences in the creative realm, created a 6-piece solo project dubbed LUMINOUS. LUMINOUS was produced by David Simpson and Kathy Fletcher, the co-founders of the creative development organization, AOK. This solo show was exhibited for two months at Independent Sector in Washington, D.C. This exploration of movement, darkness and light became a published featured spread in the Napizum magazine.
She is currently a contracted studio E-commerce photographer and photo-retoucher for multiple fashion companies providing studio lighting, portraits, high-quality skin retouching and product photography. Alexis is looking to launch her own E-Commerce services company in the fall of 2022 providing the same services on a larger scale.
Ultimately what Brown is passionate about is the externalization of the fleeting moments and the dedication to honing her craft in visual storytelling.
